About
Job Log is created and operated by 1 person! By trade, I am a software engineer, who is currently unemployed. I'm on my own personal job search, but I started Job Log as a way to learn the latest and greatest NextJS and Vercel features. I'd been previously tracking all my job applications via Excel, but wanted something a little cleaner to see the status of my applications[1]. I also use it to track my jobs to submit for unemployment claims in WA state.
If you would like to keep using Job Log and are interested in receiving e-mail updates, please email joblogservice@gmail.com. I expect myself to send out feature updates / announcements, but also as a channel to respond to any feedback or feature requests. I promise I won't spam.
Feel free to follow along on my Ko-fi as well. I will be posting announcements / updates there.
1: I personally find spreadsheets clunky and hard to useTake a Peek Into the Future Roadmap
Note: Keep in mind that what I plan to build will be tailored to the software / tech application process. I have very little experience interviewing in other industries. Open to hear about how this might be different for other application processes!Everything I build, I use. This helps inform me on what to build next. Top of mind items include:
- Accessibility!
- Make the mobile experience smooth like butter
- Expand on 'Interviews' as a first-class citizen
- Includes scheduling (e.g. calendar integration + view scheduling conflicts)
- Expand on 'Offers'
- Track the amount of time an application → offer took
- Basic Table Controls
- Settings to control the display of your table columns
- Search and filter
- Sortable columns
- Farther out, I would love to explore:
- Integrations and syncing with external application sites (e.g. LinkedIn)
- Maybe a dedicated mobile app and teach myself React Native (or something similar)
- Among many other things!
